Following on a few years after the events of ‘Dark Widow’ this novel charts the time when the Training Institute on Long Island was getting ever more assertive. Hillary and Arnold run a small building and internal design studio on Long Island. He, deeply religious, she, in his shadow. When a strange rich woman asks if they could possibly supply quotes for a large job, Hillary sees the opportunities. Arnold, on the other hand, sees that his wife is becoming too independent and is not amused when she takes on the design work.
Meanwhile, the reason that Hillary has been hired becomes fully apparent. One of the leading lights at the Training Institute that has hired her has decided that she would make an ideal intimate partner! What follows is the tale of the subversion of Hillary, the struggles of her husband Arnold and the devilish and deviant details of the training institute.
After all, the training institute on Long Island is a place where slaves are prepared for intimate service, a prison of hellish training, inducements and cruelty. A place that is becoming ever larger and more influential. And, because of this, there is an internal struggle going on between the various owners and senior women who run it. A struggle that will soon envelop Hillary and all those around her. A struggle that can only end in one way. The losers will not merely lose control of the Institute, they will be enslaved for the personal pleasure of the winners.
By the way, the second circle of Dante's Inferno is the pit of lust. Where the restless stormy winds blow the sinners to join forever in collisions of sexual lust and lechery.

It is not surprising that there is a vast stack of fetishes and tags for this one! After all, at nearly 100,000 words, this is a long one! One of the subtexts of this one is my dislike of those puritanical religious evangelicals who do not suffer the behaviour of others in silence as we put up with their hypocrisy.
Elements of thriller, elements of whodunit as well as the excitement of the chase. This novel starts slow and accelerates to become one of the most spicy of all of my novels. Written originally as a stand-alone novel, it does fill in a space in the early development of Miss Irene Clearmont’s world of slavery and female domination. A few minor spoilers for the earlier book, but in reality this series is only loosely linked as each novel stands well on its own and was written like that!
The sheer length speaks of the excitement with which I unrolled this vast novel. I simply needed the space and I found it was no effort at all to forever extend the compass of the plot.
